Will Hudson Paris

Myra Paris Wright from Hopkins, SC who is looking for any information on the Paris Family in Virginia. Myra sent me a photo of her Grandfather (Will Hudson Paris) who died in 1945. She doesn't know when the photo was taken. If you have any info, please contact Myra Paris Wright.

Jesse was born abt. 1836 in Smith Co. TN. The quick rundown on his family -- His parents were Pleasant and Nancy Paris. Other information follows starting with Pleasant and Nancy Paris (Pleasant Paris was the son of James Paris and Sally Pindleton :

1. Jesse F. Paris - bn. abt 1836, Smith Co., TN; married Sarah Jane Conger in Crittenden Co., KY, March 31, 1858. They had seven children:

a) Henry Franklin Paris - bn. Aug 1866 in Critt. Co., KY; married Lura Belle Canada on May 19, 1889 in Critt. Co., KY.

b) Josiah E. Paris bn. abt. 1870 in KY; married Sasan Katherine Canada.

c) James Obadiah G. Paris - bn. abt. 1864

e) Pauline C. Paris bn. abt. 1872

f) Richard Samuel Paris bn. abt. 1874

2. Elizabeth Paris - bn. abt. 1840; married Jan. 1, 1858 to John B. Jennings in Critt., KY

3. William J. Paris bn. 1844 in KY; married 1 April 1865 to Nancy E. Swansey in Critt, KY

4. Obadiah Richard Paris - bn. abt. 1846
5. Sarah Paris - bn. abt. 1850
6. Judith Clay Paris - bn. abt 1853

Pleasant Paris was the son of James Paris and Sally Pindleton (dau of Benjamin Pindleton.)

James Paris - bn. abt. 1782 in VA; married to Sally Pindleton on Oct 24, 1800 in Prince Edward Co., VA. Together they had 10 children:: 1) Benjamin Paris - bn. 1801 in VA, married Jane (?); 2) James Leonard Paris - bn. 1 May 1803, dd 13 April 1862 in Critt, KY, married to Julia A. Hughes; 3) Obadiah Paris - bn. 19 Mar. 1805, dd March 1870, married to Martha E. "Polly" Ellison; 4) Martha Paris - bn. 180? in VA, married to 1st-Rueben Baird, 2nd-Leander Hughes, Sr.; 5) Elizabeth Paris - bn 1809, dd 1856, married to Ephraim Agee; 6) Sarah J. Paris - bn. 1816, dd 1851, married to Littlebury Allison; 7) Pleasant Paris - bn. abt. 1816in VA, dd 1864 in Critt, KY; married Nancy (?); 8) Nancy L. Paris - bn. 1820 in Smith Co., TN. married Francis M. Smart; 9) William Paris - bn. 1821 in TN, dd 1888. Married 1st-Serelda Melvina Susan Pope, 2nd-Tranquilla Twig.; 10) Delilah Paris - bn. 1824, dd 1904. married to Jeremiah H. Baird

James Paris was the son of James Paris, bn. 1740 in VA, dd 1797, and Elizabeth (?). James and Elizabeth had 9 children:

James Paris, bn. 1740 in VA, dd 1797, and Elizabeth (?).: 1) James Paris - bn. 1782, married Sally Pindleton; 2) Betty "Patty" Paris - bn. 1776, married to James Dickerson.; 3) Obadiah Paris - bn. 1778, married to Judith Gaulding on 24 May 1804 in Prince Edward, VA; 4) Eligah Paris; 5) Zedakiah Paris married Rebecca Day; 6) Josiah Paris married to Elizabeth Gaulding on 2 June 1808 in Prince Edward, VA.; 7) Polly Paris; 8) Betsy Ann Paris; 9) Nancy Paris

Robyn says, "There is a good bit more . . . There are other Paris' in this line with the name Franklin. We have not yet discovered where this originated. Most of the information that I have came from a Paris descendant that lives in Granbury, TX. He has been extremely helpful. I've also gained alot of info from the Western KY Journal. It is published by Brenda Joyce Jerome. I think she also maintains the Crittenden Co., KY website."
